The Missing Remote: An ADHD Mission
October 2026
About a month or so ago, we lost the remote to the TV in our living room.
I’m not going to lie—I checked the kitchen. I checked the refrigerator.
Before anyone asks why I would look in the refrigerator for a TV remote, let me explain: when you have ADHD, you look everywhere. Even places most people would never think to look.
Because you never know when you had a squirrel moment, got distracted by something shiny, and set the remote down in the weirdest place imaginable.
Could I have opened the refrigerator, seen something that needed my attention, and placed the remote inside while I dealt with it? Honestly? It is possible.
Either way, we have looked everywhere, and the remote is still missing.
I refuse to give up the search. And no, I refuse to buy a replacement remote, because I know the minute I do, the missing one will magically appear in a place we already looked seventeen times.
For now, we are using an app to control the TV. But I no longer feel like I am simply looking for a remote. I am on a mission, and I refuse defeat.
At this point, I’m hoping it returns when our elves on the shelves come back. Because I’m starting to think they took it.
Please tell me I’m not the only one who has had a remote vanish into thin air.
